Making Psychology Accessible for Every Family
“I now have hope that there is a way to moveforwardinstead of feeling hopeless and overwhelmed”
(a parent of a secondary aged child)
I’m Dr Laura Kirven, an HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist with over 16 years’ experience working directly with young people, parents, and schools across both public and private sectors. I have supported children and young people aged 0–25, helping families and professionals understand and respond to a wide range of needs.
My doctoral research focused on collaborative consultation processes which is an approach that remains at the heart of my practice. It centres on building a shared understanding of a child’s strengths and challenges, and developing personalised, practical solutions that genuinely make a difference.
Over the years, I’ve seen how overwhelming it can feel when you’re unsure what to do next, especially when waiting lists are long and private assessments can feel out of reach. I wanted to create an accessible way for parents and schools to access professional guidance without unnecessary delay.
The secure online consultation I have developed is grounded in psychological theory and informed by years of practice. Through a series of carefully designed questions, you’ll share key information about your child’s development, learning, and wellbeing. This structured process helps make sense of what may be underlying your child’s challenges and leads to clear, practical strategies you can begin using straight away.
You don’t need to wait months for support to gainclarity and confidencein how to help your child move forward.
The process helped me to think about everything and I felt really supported.
